The Audit

Two weeks. We map what works in your operation, and produce a ranked plan for what to do next.

Who it is for

Founder-led businesses, $5M to $50M in revenue, 20 to 200 employees. You are proud of how the business runs. You have built craft into the operation. You are AI-curious but allergic to the word “transformation.” You want a partner who respects what you have built, and who will tell you in writing what you should not change.

What you get

  • a.The Beauty Map.A written document of what already works in your business and why. The thing nobody hands you when they show up to “transform” you.
  • b.The Amplification Plan.Three to five high-leverage AI interventions, ranked by ROI and reversibility. Each comes with a price, a timeline, and a metric.
  • c.The Left Alone List. The operational practices we considered and chose not to touch. The most important section. The one no other consultancy publishes.
  • d.A 90-minute readout callwith the founders, where we walk you through the document live, and answer any question.

How the two weeks go

Week 1, days 1-2
Listen

Three founder interviews. We come prepared, you do not.

Week 1, days 3-5
Observe

We sit in on real operations, in person or remote. No slides yet.

Week 2, days 6-8
Think

We draft the Beauty Map and rank interventions. No client meetings.

Week 2, days 9-10
Deliver

Document delivered. Readout call. You take it from here.

What happens next

You take the Audit and run with it. Genuinely. Every recommendation is written in plain English with a clear next step. Many founders implement the smaller items themselves. If you want our help on the harder ones, the next door is The Build.

The Build

Six to twelve weeks. We integrate the workflows from your Audit, with our proprietary tooling.

Talk to us about a Build

Who it is for

Audit clients who want us to build the recommendation, not just write it. We always include our proprietary workflows and our internal tooling. The deliverable is real software, deployed into your existing operation, integrated with the systems you already run.

What we build, typically

  • a.Internal AI workflows.A custom tool that lives inside your operation. Pulls from your real data. Speaks to your existing software. Quiet, durable, daily-use.
  • b.Knowledge capture systems.Tools that absorb the institutional memory of your senior people, so junior people can answer the way they would.
  • c.Customer-facing AI features.Something your customers see, written in your voice, using your data, owned by you.
  • d.Process integrations.AI sitting between two of the tools you already use. Often the highest leverage and the cheapest to ship.

How we work

We are a small lean team. We do not pretend to be the behemoths. We use first principles, work from the bottom up, and ship in weeks, not quarters. You get one senior partner, fully engaged, for the entire engagement. You do not get a junior associate, three deck reviews, or a team you have never met.

Payment is milestone-based. We agree, in writing, what success looks like before we start. The final tranche is contingent on the metric we agreed on actually moving.

What we do not do

We do not sell you generic agents. We do not staff you with offshore engineers. We do not write 80-page strategy decks. We do not work with anyone who says, in their first email, that they want to “replace [department] with AI.” That is not what AI is for, and it is not what we are for.

For engagements that do not fit either door — multi-quarter embeds, acquisition due diligence, founder workshops — talk to us. We scope and price those individually.

Things buyers actually ask us.

Why is the Audit so cheap?
It is priced to be a no-brainer for a founder of a $20M business to put on a credit card. We believe more in the trust we build over an Audit than in the margin we make on it. If we are right about the rest of our practice, the math works downstream.
Who is not a fit for Yaffo?
VC-backed startups under two years old who want to be disrupted rather than amplified. Buyers who want to “replace [department] with AI.” Companies looking for hands-on-keyboard staffing rather than judgment. We will tell you on the first call if we think we are not the right fit, and we will recommend who is.
What does “left alone” actually mean?
Every Audit and every Build deliverable includes a written list of operational practices we considered AI-augmenting and consciously decided not to. Founder calls, craftsperson final inspections, hand-written notes, certain customer service rituals. We treat those decisions as deliverables, not omissions. They are arguably the most important work we do.
